Laptop is not starting

i am starting acer laptop a message show on screen there is no bootable device please restart your system. then i was trying to install operating system cd came along with this laptop and the lapton is nat taking any command. please help

If it can't see a bootable device then the boot device priority has somehow been changed or your hard drive has failed. If this is the case, then you need a new hard drive and reinstalling windows won't fix this.
