laptop is very slow after bootup. please help

Hello,
i have a sony laptop with intel i7 windows 7
8gb ddr3 ram and 650gb hard disk

i purchased it about 1.5 years ago. till last 3 months my laptop was a monster in performance. but since last 3 months i am experiencing several issues during start up.
when i start my laptop from shut down its starts normally asks my password in abt 15 20 secs which is fine. it goes to home screen. now when the major issue starts. now i dont know y but it take almost 45 mins to complete all task or startup. till 45 mins atleast i can neither open any thing now do anything. even right click pullout menu dont work. kindly help me please. i have photoshop illustrator installed also i have full version norton 360 installed. norton never slowed the laptop till last three months.

also to mention that when after 1 hour laptop becomes normal it becomes work horse again.

please help guys.

Try to clean up %temp%, temp and prefetch folders in your computer, try to reduce unwanted startups in your computer that will greatly improve the startup time in your computer.
