Laptop isn't turning on

I used my laptop perfectly last night but today it's not turning on it just shows the light in the power button and when I remove the battery it makes a strange noise like click please tell me what to do

try this.
disconnect power adapter from laptop, remove main battery from laptop, hold down the power button for a 20 count. reinstall battery into laptop, reconnect power adapter to laptop. turn on laptop & report back here the status of laptop, good or bad.
