Keyboard on Toshiba Laptop does not work at all. Computer will boot Windows XP but on bootup I cannot enter the BIOS. Attaching a USB KB windows goes through the driver install sequences but the KB doesn't work. Have tried same usb KB on another Computer and it works. I don't know if it could be a fault in the BIOS but can't reload it since I don't have access to the KB.

Both the internal mouse and a USB mouse exhibit the same problem, I can move the pointer but when I try to Select something It just blinks. For instance if I click on the start icon the start menu appears briefly and clears in a fraction of a second.

Solution
Hi,

You might need to clear BIOS setting in this case first because the fact that the keyboard should be working it should work as well with your laptop. Remove the CMOS battery then put everything back together then try it again.
