Hello, I recently installed a standalone keyboard to my laptop via USB. My laptop keyboard has been malfunctioning ever since: I get numbers instead of letters. Even when I unplugged the USB keyboard the laptop keyboard still doesn't type properly. Is there an obvious fix to this? thanks very much.

Turn off Numlock.
On laptops under 17in they cannot fit the number pad to the right of the keyboard due to size restrictions. As such they put one you can toggle on in the middle of the keyboard. Usually small blue numbers on the top right of the keys.
