I hope some one may help me out pointing to the right part that me be got fried by short circuit,

I dont know which side of the 1R0 touched to that 1E27,. 1 side of the 1R0 has 19 volt and the other shows 4.38volt when plugged in. what is possibly be damaged by this short or some fuse is blown, laptop is dead, no sign of life.. when plugged in battery is not charging, only a oragne light on charger when plugged in further nothing..

Thanks

Solution
Well the gray coloured squares are choke coils used to step down the voltage on a circuit.

And the black one is labelled 1E27 15 is a tantalum surface mount capacitor.

Out of the two components the one most likely to fail due to a short will be the Tantalum capacitor.
Frank due to the short.

You buy them from e-bay for a few pence.
Simply replace it with a new one and the laptop will work again Frank.

If you short any capacitor or pass a voltage around it the wrong way it will break the capacitor straight away.

A simple test is to remove the capacitor from the circuit.
And check if it can still hold a charge, if not then it`s knackered frank.

You can use a multimeter with a capacitence test mode on it to check for a working cap...

You can use a multimeter with a capacitence test mode on it to check for a working cap or a dead one.

So that is the part you need to replace if where it was shorted ok Frank

It is used to drive the main power, and charging circuit of the laptop.

Your welcome anyway.

Thanks Shaun,,

I will check as you advised and will post back, i have a 2nd working motherboard which has the same 15 1E27 as you say capacitor,, so i will replace it with that one,, I am scared if the short circuit damaged the surrounding IC's or Chips.. or they are still be fine,,
