So after using my laptop for 2 years, I've noticed some heat issues arising.
First year or so, I could play demanding games and have normal heat.
The fan would be nice and strong when playing a demanding game.
idle heat was almost nothing, kind of warm.

Now some games cause overheating problems.
Fan seems to be really weak.
Hot at idle.
Overheats at bios screen.

I did a clean install of windows and had overheating problems, pointed a fan towards the laptop.
The laptop cools down, once I install chipset drivers. Without me manually cooling it,the laptop shuts off before the software installs.

After that I lowered the CPUs power settings to the lowest possible setting.
It doesn't shut off, but still pretty hot.
It runs fine, but once I crank up the CPU, overheating usually happens.

Was thinking a cooling pad would help with the heat. Atleast keep it running cooler.
Opening it up and cleaning it out is too much, since I need to literally remove everything to get to the fan/APU.

Any other things I can try to cool it down?

sounds like you need to throw that junk out or, ideally if it isn't some cheap junk Acer, exercise the extended warranty protection. For example, most Dells are covered front to back for 3 years or so.

Opening it up and clearing out any debris/fuzzballs in the cooling path is about the best thing you could do and has the best chance of "fixing" it. You could also be getting near the new battery stage. Weak laptop batteries can cause all sorts of issues at the three year mark. Vacuum the cooling path with focused nozzle and then use a low pressure blowout(air-can or air-compressor with a choke for the rest of the insides)

It's a lenovo P585,also I have no money to buy another computer right now.
Works fine for what I used for mostly.
AMD A10-4600m APU with 8gb of ram.

I used this primarily as a "desktop"
Have monitor and mouse/keyboard connected.

I will likely try the compressed air before buying a cooler.
