Laptop or Tablet for Computer Science major

Hey all, I was curious if any of you went this route and chose between the tablet or laptop for taking to class. The reason im asking is because it is going to be a very cheap <350$ lap/tab, because I will be coming back to do all my actual stuff on my big desktop rig back at the dorm. Anyhow, I was looking for input regarding the cheap laptop like this asus lappy, this, or a transformer tablet.Thanks for the answers!

Main factor gonna be the screen size/portability then. 15,6" is much bigger than any tablet. I'm considering an iPad mini or a Dell Venue 8 Pro to take to class because I dont want to be carrying a laptop all day.
