I am having problems with laptop overheating. My laptop is an Samsung NP500P4C-S07AE.
Specs-
GPU - GT630M/HD4000
CPU - Core i5 3210m @ 2.5GHz

I dont have shut downs or freezes but the lower part get very hot specially around the fan.
I am not sure that the vents are blocked, but the laptop works fine so far.
GPU gets upto 80C. There are no lags or freezes in games. I play minecraft (bad graphics, maxed out, makes laptop overheat)
While browsing 64C. I think its too much. I also play AC4
AC4 settings-
|Tex- High
| Res - 1366x768
| Reflection - high.
|All others are low.
It gets too hot with AC4. I know its not fairly optimized for PCs but I gave it a try.
Even all other games make laptop give much heat

I defragment after browsing all the time, I optimise after installing new games. So HDD is ok.
Storage 210GB free
I play on floor or table. Not in bed or carpet.
I have very less background apps. (Avast and Intel Rapid storage technology only).
I dont do anything that makes a laptop hot.
If anyone needs more info on my laptop feel free to ask.

Thank you,

PS. I joined this site today as I always searched for solutions here (and the solutions were correct)
I joined this site because of this single problem. 🙁

Generally there's a big pile of dust at the entry to the heatsink, behind the fan. I'm not sure what the disassembly process is for that laptop, but usually you need to pull the keyboard out, then remove the fan.

Ok I'll try it.

Thanks :)
