Laptop power brick beeping

Hello,
I recently purchased an MSI GT70 laptop. It comes with a considerably sized power brick. I'm having an odd problem with it and just want to confirm if I have cause to worry.

When the power brick is NOT connected to my laptop but IS plugged into an outlet I hear a very low, rapid beeping sound.
However, once I connect it to my laptop the beeping stops. (and the power brick DOES work and charge the laptop)

I'm (optimistically) hoping this would be some sort of security measure to warn me but i can't find any relevant information on this.

Should I be worried? Should i seek a replacement?

Don't know if that's normal, check with MSI support. If you do a web search for that power supply beeping, nothing really comes up.
