I am going away to college in the coming months and I need a laptop for christmas. I want my investment to last at least 4 years so i dont have to upgrade mid college.. Looking for a powerfull pc with good overall preformance gaiming wise and program wise. Im new in the world of laptops, i havnt owned one since 6th grade, please help!

The best GPU you can get in that price range is the GTX 970m which the MSI GE62 Apache Pro-219 has. But it is at the top of your budget range; $1,500. It is the least expensive laptop with the GTX 970m that I am aware of so if you want to spend less then you will have to settle for the GTX 965m or GTX 960m. The GTX 965m is only a little bit better than the GTX 960m.

Core i7 5700HQ (2.70GHz)
16GB RAM
128GB SSD
1TB HDD
GTX 970m

Click following link for benchmarks of the three GPUs I mentioned. The mobile GTX 970m is likely almost equal to a desktop GTX 960.

Thank you, if other results come to mind please leave them here. I also prefer it to have a good build quality and definetly a bit cheaper. It doesent have to be high end, good will do.

On paper the Inspiron looks good. However, people have complained the screen is not very bright; it's fine for indoor usage, but on a bright day the screen gets washed out. People also complained that the mouse pad is only ok. Nothing great about it, just your typical average mouse pad that has some average issues with it. The laptop can run hot since it has a quad core CPU so a laptop cooler is recommended when playing games.

All laptops have issues. Just do some research reading reviews to find out what most people like and dislike about a particular laptop.

Its 1,200$ a bit cheaper, tho i wanna use it for callege and i already own a console, so i was thinking about the dell which had average game preformance or something allong those lines with better battery and tad cheaper
