Laptop screen flickering

My laptop screen is flickering black and then back to normal again, when I first turn the computer on, it takes a few times of starting up before the screen will actually come on. I've just noticed that it flickers when I move the lid back and forth. I have checked all graphics and moniter drivers, everything is apparently up to date. please help

Several possibilities, loose connection to Motherboard, loose connection to screen, damage to cable between motherboard and screen assembly, screen failure. From experience, the problem usually occurs on the cable loom just inside the bezel. Sometimes it's possible to manoeuvre the cable till the screen display is stable and tape it in that position. Meanwhile the easiest 1st step is to remove the Screen Bezel and check the wiring where it enters the screen assembly.
