Laptop Screen Glitches Purple and Pink

I have a Lenovo laptop with NVIDIA GEFORCE and I've updated my video and display drivers like other similar threads have suggested. However, the pink and purple flashing and display issues are still persisting.

Some other threads were suggesting fixing a ribbon in the hardware of the laptop?
Can anyone elaborate on how I would do that or other possible solutions. Also the issue does not get worse or get fixed when the laptop screen is moved around. Thanks

Solution
That´s most likely the culprit: (order the cable with the correct number, should be labeled on the old cable)

You will have to disassemble almost the complete laptop till you can reach the ribbon cable of the display.

go to "LCD cable" and follow the suggested FRU videos before, to get to the cable:

If you are careful it should be doable. Always be grounded if you handle the laptop, e.g. https://www.amazon.com/Anti-Static-Wrist-Strap-Grounding-Adjustable/dp/B002O6U65W

It's a Lenovo Edge 15, as far as connecting an external monitor goes, I don't have an HDMI cable so I can't test how it looks on a different monitor. I've had this laptop for about three years now, but it's been used pretty much everyday for that time.

Is it necessary to test it with an external monitor before fixing the internal ribbon? Or can I try fixing the ribbon to see if that resolves the issue?

Screenshots are coming out normal, without any distortion or discoloration. What should my next step be? Take this laptop to a professional, or is it something I can easily do?

Dogwithavlog.... Did you ever fix this issue? Did you replace the cable? I have a Lenovo Y50-70 touch. I have flashing screen issues as well as a purple tint with ghosting. Did you replace your cable yet and how difficult was it?
