I have the Dell Inspiron 15R N5110. I can use the computer fine on a external monitor with no problem. But when I use the laptop screen it will freeze up and have white horizontal lines. It will get better or worse depending on how I bend it. I replaced the LCD cable and am still getting the same problem any suggestions?

Does the screen look anything like this/similar?

There are 2 possible problems to this.

1. The screen itself is bad
2. The connection area for the cable to screen is bad.

It is going to be pretty hard to check, but you might want to open the computer up and look at the connectors.

I tried replacing the LCD cable and it did nothing. The connections seem fine and nothing seems wrong with them.

There is nothing wrong with the screen or cable. I have the same problem and dell won't do anything and the fix that I found was put the screen in duplicate mode then change the resolution so you will have a full screen. It is working for me. My screen would go fuzzy at least 6 times a day. seems like it's cured now.

Most likely a broken screen (LCD). Would have to replace it.
