Laptop Screen Not Reading

When I turn on my laptop it comes up with a black screen, plug in my second monitor via VGA it shows up on that monitor, plug in a TV via HDMI and shows up there too. I view the screen preferences and it shows that the laptop screen isn't even readable, so its not a broken back light. Not sure if its a connection problem, I have had a Samsung Series 7 Gamer for about 3 years.

it could be the videocable between the motherboard & the screen that is causing the problem so try to reseat that cable at both ends & see if there is any wear & tear of the cable by the hinge area. could also be a screen issue so what is the full model# of the laptop?

Thank you for you help but I ended up getting it to work again! The solution involved me frustratingly turning my computer off then on again about 4 times.
