Laptop Screen Problems

My laptop screen has stopped turning on. I know my laptop works as I can still use it on my tv via HDMI cord, but I need the laptop screen itself. My laptop is an Acer Aspire E1-570.

Shine a bright flashlight on it, if you see anything then the backlight could be bad or the connector just needs to be reseated.
