My mom's laptop starts displaying static on its screen about 10 minutes after startup. The static starts off not too bad, but quickly gets much worse. Looks like an old TV that gradually looses signal. The static only last for maybe 10 seconds, and is always immediately followed by the computer blue screening. This whole experience is also accompanied by the laptops fans cranking to full speed.

Other problems that the laptop is facing that is probably applicable this problems:

About a month ago a few of the keys on the keyboard stopped working.

Around the same time the audio started freezing quite a lot while watching videos or while doing anything that involved audio.

If anyone has any idea what is most likely causing this problem or how to fix it (if possible) would be greatly appreciated.

Your laptop graphics card may have failed, with regard to the static...especially if many colored lines across the screen or your fan is causing the issue, best to get someone who you trust that is technically minded to open and remove dust from fan and other parts.

Boot into safe mode and see how the laptop responds.

While in safe mode, right click on my computer and click "manage", now on the right side of the screen that has opened click device manager, expand keyboards, uninstall the keyboard, now at the top of the device manager screen should have the name of your laptop, right click and scan for hardware changes, this will detect keyboard an reinstall the drivers, this may fix the keyboard issue.

Download blue screen view, a very small app that will open the blue screen dumps made by windows, this will tell you more about the exact blue screening error you had.

More than likely hardware related. I'd recommend dusting the inside components.

You could also do a complete re-formatting. It could be that the software is just too intensive for the hardware.
