Laptop shut off in the middle of an AMD update and now my laptop won't start

Hi there, I really need some help, as the title says, my laptop shut off in the middle of an AMD update, and now it won't start at all, it gives me the Dell Logo and the spinning circle, but after the Dell Logo dissapears, the screen dims and nothing happens, the circle just spins, spins, spins but nothing changes, I've looked for a few hours for something but I haven't gotten anywhere in progress.
My laptop is a Dell Inspiron 5000 series if anyone is wondering.

Boot to the dell diagnostics and run tests, esp the harddrive test.
Usually you do this by pressing F12 a few times as soon as you see the Dell logo

I hope you are not talking about a firmware/BIOS update because that can be TROUBLE.
