Laptop shuts itself off after attempting to install a software

My brand new laptop suddenly shut down when I tried to install a software which gave a warning that it doesnt support my laptop. Im a bit worried if my laptop has a problem or its just because its trying to protect it from that unsupported software that causes it to shut down. Any idea why it shutoff? I dont see any other cause.
