Laptop stuck on the logo screen

Hey everyone
Last night my fairly new laptop of a year randomly froze up mid way while watching a movie and stayed frozen for half an hour until I decided to just power off my laptop by holding down the power button. Since then, every time I turn my laptop on it stays stuck on the GateWay Logo and does not go past it. I called the GateWay help centre and I tried going into safe mode and the recover mode page by pressing f10 and it would not take me to that screen.

Any idea what is going on or what I can do? Thanks!

Which OS? Win 8.1, Win 10?

Does it respond to F2 or any other key commands to see the BIOS menu?

It only responds to f2, I reset to default settings and still nothing!

I am going to say that your HD is dead. Recoqnised by the BIOS but dead.
