Laptop to Projector Sound??

Hey guys, I'm having a slight issue at the moment with sound for my laptop. I connected my macbook air with a thunderbolt to hdmi cable into my projector, but the projector gets sound from the DvD player. The problem is that the picture shows up, but sound will not come from through the Dvd Player (speakers are directly hooked up to it) and the dvd player has no HDMI input.. Any Suggestions?

Your laptop certainly has line level audio out (headphone out) so if your HTiB has this kind of input then you are fine.
