laptop touch pad and usb mouse not working

acer laptop usb mouse started first thought bad batt then touchpad started failing reboot reboot works sometimes far awhile can hear a alert noise in background but no error message Acer Aspire 57733-6838

try installing optional drivers from the acer homepage for the device (touchpad) and deinstall/remove other drivers
