Hi all,

Can I upgrade from my current dual core T9300 to a QX9300.

P socket is correct I know that much (PGA478).

I have a 65W transformer, (Q1) is this enough power? TDP is 45W on the Qaud and 35W on the dual core. It runs the dual core without issues; battery as well (10.8v dc, 4400mah).

(Q2) Does chipset matter? Just where I'm going to purchase the qaud cpu, it states "Please make sure your platform is Intel 45 Chipset"??? I have the GM965.

Thanks all for the help :)

Very nice, you did a lot of homework before you asked your question. Not many do. I believe that the different FSB speeds would make that an incompatible upgrade. Hopefully if I am wrong, someone will correct me.

of course you can cause those processors work on the same fsb rate and r on the same socket.

if u r not sure of your answer dont say anything !

if your motherbord fsb is 1066 it means u can use hardware with this fsb so 1066 ram 1066 fsb procesors on your socket.. sometimes u need to upgrade bios. but there is solution for everything.
