Hello, I'm Jewel with Kingston Technical Support and would like to offer our assistance. New laptops/desktops/motherboards SATA are typically set to AHCI by default. Looking at your motherboard manual there does not appear to be any SATA Configuration settings available, considering that it has an Intel 7-series chipset it has SATAIII 6Gbps and is most likely set to AHCI by default. The 500MB/s Read/Write specification is using a workload of compressible data, our datasheet includes compressible and incompressible benchmark results as they can vary based on the data workload used in the benchmarking utility. Seen here:
http/www.kingston.com/datasheets/shfs37a_us.pdf . The incompressible data benchmark results are expected at 470MB/s Read and 220MB/s Write for the 240GB drive and 420MB/s Read and 120MB/s Write for the 120GB drive. For further assistance, please call us at 1-800-435-0640 (USA and Canada only) M - F 6am - 6pm PT and I or another available Technician will assist you.
Thank you for selecting Kingston as your upgrade partner.
