Hi! Today I bought a new laptop the Asus K55, then decided to purchase the Kingston Fury Hyper X, the box says that the read and write speed it 500mbps. But when I use HDTune the results turn out to be 220 and peak at 330, does this mean is it sata iii 3gbps or 6gbps, I also want a reccmondation for a new laptop for my son's birthday. I want SATA 6gbps mainly asus, dell, or lenovo. Thank You

Hello, I'm Jewel with Kingston Technical Support and would like to offer our assistance. New laptops/desktops/motherboards SATA are typically set to AHCI by default. Looking at your motherboard manual there does not appear to be any SATA Configuration settings available, considering that it has an Intel 7-series chipset it has SATAIII 6Gbps and is most likely set to AHCI by default. The 500MB/s Read/Write specification is using a workload of compressible data, our datasheet includes compressible and incompressible benchmark results as they can vary based on the data workload used in the benchmarking utility. Seen here: http://www.kingston.com/datasheets/shfs37a_us.pdf . The incompressible data benchmark results are expected at 470MB/s...

By default it is ACHI, and there is no IDE option.

Thank you very much, I am just confused because the retailer (jetcomputers) advertised it that way. The retailer say these are always the read and write speed. Hope you clear with them. Thank You. PS. In their databse they say the the read and write speed is 550/500, please tell them to be more precise for future customer.
