Hello.
I have a 5 year old Toshiba Satellite P755 (Core i7 2670QM - Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit - 8 GB RAM) and it seems to be on its last breaths. I have excluded the following reasons on why it won't start or randomly turns itself off:
1) Drive problems
I upgraded the main drive with a Kingston SSD a year ago because the original HDD failed. My drive is free from viruses (scanned with Kaspersky) and undamaged. I tried booting from a recovery disk to see if the laptop would still turn off (even without the drive in it) and it did.
2) Power Supply
I tried running the laptop on battery and on DC (without the battery) alone and it still dies without warning.
Is it time to get a new laptop or is there another reason to my problem that I am not aware of?
I haven't had it checked at a service center but honestly don't want to hassle myself with it (given the likely chance that it can't be fixed.
Any ideas on the matter are highly appreciated. Feel free to ask for more information if you need it.
Cheers.
