laptop's display is not working

i'm using a toshiba laptop but in past few days it was slipped from my hands and the laptop body gets some crack on it but my laptop's display is not working. i am able to use my laptop by attaching it to the another desktop and everything is fine. Similarly can i connect this laptop to my Toshiba's LCD tv and how?

if the laptop has an HDMI output , just use that
might have to set the audio output source to HDMI tho to get sound going on the tv

in the playback devices list it should have HDMI as an option , right click on the speaker icon in your icon tray bottom right on screen
