Is it just me, of that lawsuit looks like spam? reminds me of the mails you get telling you to follow a certain link and change your password...
On the other hand, even if then granny downloaded stuff, the fact of that law suit is totally without basis, and the company is giving them the exit strategy. The whole controversy over if donwloading is legal or not, is based on the fact if the company that made the "movie", looses money due to that download. That beeing said, in some countries, it is assumed, that if you download, then you dont buy. This assumues also that if you dont download, you will buy.

There is no way of course to back up that statement or the statemente that you would not buy.
But if the company says, "to avoid embarassment" it assumes its embarassing to buy porn, meaning that those customers would not buy porn if download was not available.

Unless i am missing something :D.

I doubt ISPs will give the movie/gaming industries access to their clients' Internet usage. I don't know how much of all Internet usage is used for torrenting pirated content, but ISPs certainly do.

I am waiting for the story of how a Granny accused of online theif freaks out and goes to the lawyers office and empties a Glock 20 on them. Maybe then the worthless idiots in Washington will pay attention. Or maybe a double barrel shotgun like in those old western movies.
