LCD Display half portion has color strip

my model is acer aspire 4736 of which more than half portion becomes small width colour strips. Other portion is normal and you can work easily. What may be the reason ?
How much will be the cost of repairing in indian currency?

Sounds like either the LCD panel is cracked/broken, or your GPU chipset is wank. Are the colors/lines always there, or do they come and go? You can take a screenshot, and if the lines are there in the image, then it's the GPU. Most likely, you have a cracked LCD, though. Not cheap to replace, usually.

If you are willing to replace the screen yourself, you can pick up a replacement screen off of ebay for around $50 USD
