Solved! LCD screen is white with a black crack-like image

Hello,
We just bought a Sony Vaio less than a month ago. All of a sudden the LCD is half white and half with vertical thin light blue lines. The white half has a black crack-like image. It has not been dropped or hit. There are no visible signs of damage whatsoever. Anyone have any ideas?

It could be a faulty GPU (graphics chip) or perhaps a bad inverter. Whatever the case is, if you just bought it a month ago, I'd bring it back and get a replacement or call Sony, as it should be covered under a one year warranty.
