Left side of audio louder than right

I recently noticed that the left side of my headphones is louder than my right side. I'm testing this from my laptop, and I've noticed this with multiple pairs of headphones. It's not the music that's the issue, I've used an online tone generator and it was clear the left side of my headphones were significantly louder than my right side, especially on lower frequencies around Hz.

I've balanced the sound in my control panel, so that's not the issue..

I also tried using them in my desktop and other laptop, and it seems they were balanced there.

My laptop model is a Toshiba Satellite L645-S4102 if that helps. It uses Conexant Smart Audio HD according to the system info.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

This sounds like either a bad capacitor or a shorted resistor.
Unless your laptop is under warrranty, you may have to be satisfied with an external sound card.

Ah well if that's the case I probably might just leave it as it is, and listen to music on a different source.. Would buying a DAC instead be better?
