Question Lenovo Chromebook turns on but has grey screen.

Brightness keys do work at changing the brightness.

My Chromebook was in developer mode and developer mode boot-up screen was working as normal so I don't think this is a problem with the screen. I tried taking it out of developers mode but that didn't fix anything.

Pressing the refresh button and power button for 10 seconds didn't work.

I tried connecting it to an external monitor. Interestingly, though the external monitor displayed a grey screen as well, the GUI for brightness appeared when I changed the brightness or volume.

Any idea what's up or other stuff I could try?
