Hello,
So recently my friend just bought a new laptop, the ideapad 330. After a few weeks using it, now it can't boot into windows. Only showing the select boot option, and after selecting the hardware, it still wont boot, and return to the same state.

I've tried to change some settings in the BIOS Settings and it says BIOS write protected. Anyone know what happened? and how to resolve it?

Either the hard drive is failing or the system thereon can't start itself up. If you can remove and buy a caddie to slave it to a PC or another laptop, you should be able to find out which of the above is the problem.

Caddies are quite cheap on e-Bay. Search for a 2.5" HDD caddie and make sure you get one with a three headed cable. One end for the caddie and at the other emd, two for the PC - power and data separately.
