Lenovo ideapad y700 with 960m enough for gaming

The GTX 960m can get above 40 FPS with high settings in GTA 5. The benchmark results for that game are with laptops that has a quad core i7 CPU. Click the FPS results to see the laptop's specs that got the result. A laptop with a quad core i5 CPU should get similar results. GTA 5 does not benefit from Hyper Threading that quad core i7 CPUs have but not quad core i5 CPUs.

But i wouldn't buy anything less than a GTX 1050 this days. Laptops with the 1050 or 1050 ti are price about the same as the ones with 960M. Yet, the GTX 1050 is at least 50 or 60% faster in 1080p gaming, which is the ideal gaming resolution.
