Solution
Try going into "Control Panel" again and "Sound". Highlight "Speakers" and then click the "Configure" button. If that makes no difference. Double click on "Speakers", go to the "Levels" tab and make sure all are set correctly. Then go to the "Advanced" tab and click the "Test" button. Should none of this work. Try clicking the "Restore Defaults" in the same option.

After that you may want to try updating the drivers for the device.
In "Control Panel" and then "Sound", did you make sure that the "Speakers" are set as the default device?

Also, in the task bar, right click on the "Speaker" icon and then click "Open Volume Mixer". Make sure nothing is turned down or muted.

i just tried both and they are the default and not muted
