Solved! Lenovo ThinkPad Edge 14" 0578 XP Compatible?

Hello,

Looking to know if anyone can confirm whether Lenovo ThinkPad Edge 14" 0578 is compatible with XP. Recently purchased a laptop to find the OEM had changed the hardare slightly since previous unit and was no longer compatible. Any reason why you want XP? XP is outdated, full of security holes and no MS support.

If you have apps that runs only on XP, then you can run tem in virtual XP mode. The computer has windows 7 home premium 64bit. You can upgrade to Windows 7 Professional 64bit and create a virtual XP.

Just make sure hat before doing anything, first create recovery discs. If you reformat the drive and install XP, the recovery partition with Win7 is deleted.
