Lenovo thinkpad t420 wont power up

I have a Lenovo t420, currently I can't get it to power on at all. Currently when I plug it in I get no charging light, but when I heard reset it when I put the battery back in and the charging light flashes in what seems to be a code then stays solid. When I try to power on all I get is the light around the power button turns on. This happened awhile back but then I started working again on its own, I really need this laptop to work, it has all of my repositories on it and my build environments. Thanks in advanced!

I would suggest you try the following.

1. Unplug the power/charger cord.
2. Remove the battery.
3. Press and hold the "Power" button for about 30 seconds.
4. Now plug it in (without replacing the battery yet) and see if it will turn on.
5. If it does, then replace the battery.
