My 2 GB laptop suddenly turned off due to overheat when I was running Photoshop CS6 and at the same time opened a browser (which is really using the memory). I tried to boot it up again but unfortunately no light turns on, nor any signs of it being turned on.

Just a note that the same thing happened a few weeks ago. I tried to power drain the laptop but it didn't work. So what I did was I left it be, and in like 2 weeks, all of the sudden it's bootable again, and chargeable.

My asking is, is there any other way to fix this rather than waiting for it to become bootable again?

You would need to find out what is overheating and have it repaired/replaced. It could be a few different things, but best to get it looked at soon rather than risk (if it hasn't happened already) doing more damage to the hardware.
