Im thinking of buying a gaming laptop, and I found a Lenovo Y50 UHD 4k laptop for $1099 CAN. It comes with Gtx 860m 2gb gpu and intel 4th Gen Intel® Core™ i7-4710HQ (2.50GHz 1600MHz 6MB) CPU. Should I wait for 5th gen intel processsors and maybe gtx 960m or do you guys think this is good for gaming. Also I heard some issues with this thing and 48hz, does anyone know if i set my resolution to 1080p it will be at 60hz?

The price seems very appealing but you won't be able to game at that resolution. And about waiting for the version with 960m it will be most likely have a higher price. Then for whether the refresh rate would become 60hz at 1080p, I would say most likely but I'm not 100% sure

I want to just get the FHD 1080p version but apparently that monitor has very bad view angles and color saturations. I thought if i get this 4k with IPS display and just always run at 1080p would be good. But I want to know badly if anyone else with this 4k y50 has done that and if its good for gaming cause I will be playing lots of games.

Well I have done some research, one guy said uninstalling the driver for the hd4600 turned the screen to 60hz. But another thing I would like to point out is that even at 1080p this laptop won't hit 60 frames per second in most games so I think even if the display remains at 48hz at 1080p it will be fine. And as far as how the 860m will run games I would say you will be able to play on medium settings in most games and with older games you will be able to play at high. One last thing, as time goes someone will probably find a way to hit 60hz if it can't at 1080p if the display allows it(fingers crossed).
