Lenovo yoga pro 13 audio controls wont work

i bought a used Lenovo yoga 13 with an i7, 8gb ram and 256gb SSD

a good deal.

however when i updated the thing (with all the correct drivers as well) i couldn't get the volume controls on the side to work, nothing i've tried works so far.

Have you tried uninstalling the drivers you updated or even restoring it to a point before the changes and see if they work then?

It may well not be the drivers or updates that are the cause, it could just be the buttons, but that is something to try first.
