I'm think a pcb that has not been properly manufactured. As components heat up the will expand ever so slightly - enough in your case to make it work. If it's still under warranty RMA it. If it's not somebody that can do hot air rework of surface mount components may be able to help you.

Edit - how old is it? I just looked at a friends plasma that had 7 bad capacitors in the power supply. They were easily visible with the naked eye - the tops were bulging.

Hi thanks for the speedy reply.

I have not stripped it down yet, to see if the capacitors have gone bad, the tv is out of warrenty around 2-3years old.
Looking on ebay PCB boards dont seem too much, and I would opt if that wwas the case.

It take around 20-30mins before the picture becomes watchable asif nothing was a matter.

If a visual inspection shows up nothing(or hopefully it will), you may want to try blowing air from a hair dryer towards different parts of the pcb and see if this affects how quickly the picture stabilizes. You may be able to localize where the problem is.
