IF the receiver will run 4 ohm speakers then it will work with the 5 speakers. If the speaker wires have connectors just cut them off and use the bare wire. You want to make sure you get the polarity correct and the same for all the speakers.
Problem will be that AVRs never have amps built in for the subwoofer and most HTS systems have that amp built into the main unit. That means you will need either an additional amp for the sub or a new self powered sub.

Thank you for the response.

The LG speaker wiring appears to be four conductor speaker cable. Would this cause compatibility issues when trying to find suitable wiring that would comply with the the standard 2 conductor wiring for the Onkyo?
