LG pw800 minibeam projector with surround sound

I am trying to get my Projector hooked up with my Sony Blu Ray surround sound system so that when I am watching TV, the sound goes through my Sony Blu Ray surround sound system. I have an HDMI hooked up to them but it will only send the image from the Blu Ray to the projector for DVD's or Netflix and such. When I switch the input on the projector from HDMI to TV, the projector does not send the sound to the Sony.

Can anybody help me with this?

Without model numbers I can't give you an exact answer.
My guess is you would need an HDMI input selector with audio extraction like this one

Connect both the TV box and Sony BD/HTS to it with HDMI. The HDMI out of the switch to the projectors and the digital audio out to the Sony optical input. When you want TV sound select the TV box on the projector and the optical input on the Sony.
