Have LG TV and LG sound bar want volume to only work with TV remote volume tired of using two remotes

Which models do you use and how are these connected to each other?

it should be possible via HDMI ARC connection

It's worth trying to update the LG soundbar firmware. Mine didn't connect properly to the TV remote until I'd updated it.
