Can an SD card work as additional storage for the Acer Aspire Cloudbook? I want to download Steam Games.

Yes, an SD card can be used to expand storage. However, the SD card may not go all the way into the slot. Some small an inexpensive laptops have shallow SD card reader slots where the SD card itself sticks halfway out. That would not be ideal for "permanent" storage.
