I have a Samsung flatscreen model UN55F7100, a Dish Hopper 3 model 082 and a Aiwa surround sound system NSX-AV900. The tv sound is poor. I would like to be able to use the Aiwa as the sound system for the tv but have haf no luck linking the components. Can you give me any direction about what i need to do to make this work?

Solution
Your TV has a 3.5mm audio output jack. If your Aiwa has an line level input (aux for example). Then you just need a cable to connect them. Most likely the Aiwa has left and right RCA jacks so you need a cable like this

Check the TV manual on how to use the audio output jack. If may just work when you plug in the cable or it may need to be configured in the TV menu. Set it to line level if that's an option.
