Liteon dvd recorder problems

Hello,Liteon LVW-5005 problem.
For some reason the unit will not accept CD-R blank discs. I insert disc and after the "LOADING" response it shows "NO DISC". I have previously used Verbatim 700mb - 52xspeed - 80min discs without any problems.
Any help providing a fix would be greatly appreciated.

How old is the recorder ? Starting to get fussy about disc brand or type is often a sign of laser problem.

Try another brand of CD or DVD or another type (RW) to see what happens.

It may help to clean the laser lens if the machine is older or has been used where people smoke.
