So I recently just bought these Logitech g35 surround sound headset. I mostly play cs go and I am having troubles hearing footsteps. I tried playing around with the equalizer settings but it didn't really help. Also this is a usb headset if that helps. I was using Apple earbuds to play and they were great at locating footsteps and sound.

Any suggestions?

What do you mean a real pair? Like analog vs usb?
I bought them at Best Buy. They don't return opened headphones. Any suggestions on successfully returning them?
Say they came opened like that or they don't work?

Also I need something with a mic

You mean to say you also need a mic:
http://www.modmic.com/products/modmic-4-0
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/836611-REG/Blue_SNOWBALL_ICE_Snowball_USB_Condenser_Microphone.html
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1011788-REG/pyle_pro_pdmic45_small_diaphragm_electric_condenser.html
or even something like http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/830692-REG/Audio_Technica_ATR4650_ATR4650_Omnidirectional_Condenser_Computer.html

Put them together and a HD518+modmic is about the same price as the g35 but much better.

As for returning them, return them as defective if you think they are defective according to the promotional materials. If you are in the US their return policy cannot exclude returns of defective products.

I'm in Canada and the hd 518 are pricy. And saying the headset is defective is the best way to get a full refund?

Not if that's a lie. Lying about the product being defective is fraud. If the product seems like it's defective according to what it promises though, that would be a cause to return it. If the product works as intended though, you have no recourse other than to learn from your mistakes.

That's why I want to return them. They cut out sometimes and had a background sound.
