I have been wanting to get into photography for a long time. I decided to buy a DSLR but I can't decide between the Canon 200d with a kit lens or the Nikon d3400 with the 18-55 kit lens and a 70-300. They both are about the same price here. I want a camera that is easy to travel with. Video is something that I will do once in a while but nothing that important. I just want the kit that will give more for my money because I know that they both perform pretty similar when it comes to photos which is important. So should I go for the newer one with fewer accessories or the older one

I am here to ask more which kit gives me more for my money because as far as I have researched they are pretty similar in photo performance. Sorry for the misunderstanding

Depends on what you are filming. The 70-300 (not sure I would get that lens) obviously gives you way more zoom than the kit lens. BUT if you shoot indoors, that lens won't get much use and maybe the cost should go to a better flash. If you shoot sports, the kit lens won't get much use.
You get the wireless connectivity with the Canon. Is that worth paying for to you?

I don't think that anybody, besides you, can determine what is the best value for you.

Well thanks that's something that nobody can answer clearly and that's the hard part about deciding if you are new but still thanks for the advice.

I would not use the wireless connectivity, for example, so I wouldn't weight that very heavily. You might have that as a "must have" feature.
But, the higher output built-in flash on the Canon might be a "must have" for me...
Value is a very personal decision when the technical aspects are similar.

Yeah I get it I'm just really confused and I don't know what to do because both cameras have things that are important to me.

First of all I have held them and they are pretty much the same for me as far as comfort. And I'm looking to do a bit of everything except sports. Video is something that I will do from time to time.

If you're just starting out, the 70-300mm lens is not the way to go. You're better off with an 18-55mm lens.
I found this deal on Amazon for a Canon Rebel T6, which has both an 18-55 and a 75-300mm for $450: https://www.amazon.com/Canon-Digital-Camera-18-55mm-75-300mm/dp/B01CQJHJ2E
Nikon has a similar setup for the D3400 for about $600: https://www.amazon.com/Nikon-D3400-NIKKOR-18-55mm-3-5-5-6G/dp/B01KITZRBE

Not to throw another variable in here, but if you're looking for a good travel camera, I would suggest either the Sony A6000 or the A6300, both of which are more portable than the Canon or Nikon. https://www.amazon.com/Sony-Mirrorless-Digital-Graphite-ILCE-6000L/dp/B01NACWUB8

Well the prices you are mentioning are on Amazon if I order from Amazon I will pay another 50-100€ for shipping and other things. Also the a6000 is something that is way out of my budget. Also is a 55-200 a better option as a second lens?(it comes in a bundle which is the case with the 70-300 too)

I mean it comes with a 18-55 and a 55-200 or a 70-300. Also yeah my location isn't really helping much. Thanks for the answer though
