Hello!

This is my first post onto Tom's Hardware. I'm looking a fast laptop for software development. The types of development I do are

    1. OpenGL/DirectX (more computation than rendering)
    2. Server-side connections (lots of ssh'ing and network transfers)
    3. Assets Editing (photoshop, illustrator, unity)
    4. Mobile/Web/Desktop Development (fast storage)

Couple of questions:

    1. I'm not sure if this directly translates to a gaming laptop, but if it does, I hope that it has a decent battery life, doesn't weigh 50 pounds, and doesn't look like it comes from another planet.
    2. Will NVMe drives like the 750 series ever come to laptops? I think workstation users would love that sort of thing.

Thank You very much!

The laptop will depend on the budget that you have. If money is not an issue then a workstation is the best for you. I would look into the lenovo w range, dell precision range, hp zbook range. The other option is a barebone laptop which you can customise yourself.
