Looking for a low budget gaming laptop

I'm looking for a decent priced laptop with a minimum of the following requirements:

• 
  ■ Windows 7 or Windows 8
  ■ Primary display needs to be 1280x768 or higher
  ■ Dedicated, dual-head NVIDIA or ATI video card w/ 512MB DDR3 RAM
  ■ Intel Core2Duo Processor running at 2.5GHz equivalent or better
  ■ 4GB RAM

It's preferable that the video card have at least 1 GB dedicated memory, also to have more RAM. We use a program called MediaShout 5 (mediashout.com) and their requirements refer to the graphic card hierarchy listed on this site. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Both of the above options have a GT 840M which believe it or not has some decent benchmarks. It should play most modern games at low-medium settings with good frame rates.

Now with a GTX 860M like in the above laptop you'll play most '13 & '14 titles at medium-ultra settings quite well. Depending on your processor which on the above option is viable. It'd play Titanfall on max settings with close to 50fps. Anything beyond this performance would obviously command a larger price tag

You do not need to spend anywhere near $1,000 for a laptop to run MediaShout. The system requirements are outdated by today's standards.

I would simply get the following 15.6" ASUS X550LNV-NB51 for $670. It has a dual core i5-4210u CPU, and a nVidia GT 840m that is basically overkill for MediaShout purposes. It also has a 1920x1080 resolution which is something that I personally prefer because it means you can see more on the screen at a single time and allows you to be more productive.

The Core i5-4210u can go up to 2.7GHz.

Additionally, those specs for the Core 2 Duo CPU which came out back in 2006. On average the performance of Intel CPUs has increased approximately 45% on average between the current Haswell generation CPUs and the Core 2 Duo CPUs from yesteryear.

That basically means that even if the Core i5-2410u can only reach 1.7GHz, it would be nearly equal to a Core 2 Duo CPU running at 2.5GHz. That also excludes additional instruction sets developed since 2006 for multimedia which can have an impact when recording / playing back videos.
